Technology and Safety
For 2025, the Acura MDX features a new 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, replacing the previous trackpad interface for a more intuitive user experience. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto come standard, and an available 19-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio system enhances the in-car entertainment experience. The MDX also includes Google built-in, Alexa compatibility, and a wireless charging pad for added convenience.
The Volvo XC90 comes with a nine-inch touchscreen that runs on a Google-based operating system. While it provides navigation and smartphone integration, it lacks wireless Apple CarPlay, making connectivity less seamless compared to the MDX. The XC90 does offer premium audio options, including a 19-speaker Bowers & Wilkins system, but accessing these features requires upgrading to the highest trim levels.
In terms of safety, both SUVs come equipped with advanced driver assistance features. The Acura MDX includes the AcuraWatch suite, which features adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, lane-keeping assist, and automatic emergency braking. The Volvo XC90 offers similar technology with its Pilot Assist system, but the MDX's adaptive cruise control includes curve speed assist, adding an extra layer of intelligent driving support.
